The Last Day

October 6th, 2007

Let us read what Jesus says about the last day:
“As for the person who hears my words but does not keep them, I do not judge him. For I did not come to judge the world, but to save it. There is a judge for the one who rejects me and does not accept my words; that very word which I spoke will condemn him at the last day. For I did not speak of my own accord, but the Father who sent me commanded me what to say and how to say it. (John 12:47-49)

Good quote, isn’t it? Powerful! As a school teacher and parent, I deal with children who make excuses. As adults, we know we need to take responsibility for our actions. I must admit that I did at one time reject the words of Jesus. Not now. I will not reject that Jesus said he did not speak of his own accord. I will not reject the proof that Jesus was commanded by God what to say and how to say it.

I used to believe in a mythical Jesus that was actually God, but I realize that I was mislead, so I will not turn my back on what the real Jesus said when it disagrees with what I was taught. I also have enough respect for my elders to point out their similar mistake and allow them to make an informed choice on what to believe.

Do you believe in the last day? Do you believe in a judge? Do you realize that some people think they are too cool or too holy for God to test them? Do you know people that disbelieve in anything that challenges their “flawless” dogma written by their “flawless” priests and ministers?

[2.62] Surely those who believe, and those who are Jews, and the Christians, and the Sabians, whoever believes in Allah and the Last day and does good, they shall have their reward from their Lord, and there is no fear for them, nor shall they grieve.
[2.126] And when Ibrahim said: My Lord, make it a secure town and provide its people with fruits, such of them as believe in Allah and the last day. He said: And whoever disbelieves, I will grant him enjoyment for a short while, then I will drive him to the chastisement of the fire; and it is an evil destination.

It is clear to me that Jesus says “the Father” like Muhammad says “Allah.”
It is also clear to me that Jesus was commanded to say what God willed him to say, like Muhammad was commanded to write what God willed him to write. Muhammad was illiterate, and yet he wrote the Koran.

In those quotes from the Koran, Ibrahim is Abraham who is known by Jews and Christians. As a Baha’i, I believe in the religion of God as it was dolled out to Moses, then Jesus, then Muhammad, then the Bab, and then Baha’u’llah.

In the world today, we have men of different religions fighting each other. The war is on. But the “last day” will not be the end of the world. The men in power will have their war, but before parts of the world wide web are vaporized by nuclear weapons, take heed to the truth that I tried to slap across the face of those who were brought here to find it.
If that person is you, please keep reading. Keep thinking. Post a question here if you have one. Send us an email if you would feel more comfortable. We are here for the pure of heart seeking truth. Our “waters of life” are always free of charge.

In service to the Cause of God,
Collin
