Mary, The definition of "virgin" is that the hymen is intact. When Jesus was born, his birth broke Mary's hymen, thus it was a "virgin birth." But the sperm came from Joseph as the Bible explains. There was just never a penetration by Josephs penis.

Likewise, the "immaculate conception" was not that Jesus had no father, rather, it was that Mary was immaculate when she conceived Jesus.

Mary,
Thank you for the comment. I agree with you that our religion should not be a cult. We should not deviate from God’s will. After the death of Shoghi, many Baha'i’s have been following the cult of the UHJ that the Hands set up in violation of Shoghi’s plan. Not until 1991 was the correct UHJ set up by the establisher of the Baha'i faith. This UHJ has a David King as the president as directed by the Will and Testament of Abdu’l-Baha. Hopefully, your cult leaders will not keep you from reading the Will and Testament to find out that you and the friends were hoodwinked after Shoghi’s death.
I do not deviate from the infallible words of Shoghi, so I agree with the virgin birth. I do not deviate from the infallible words of Baha’u’llah, so science and religion must agree. As science says there must be a sperm and an egg to make a child, the child born of Mary was “made of the seed of David according to the flesh” (Romans 1:3) from Jesus’ father Joseph. Please reply again after you check out the Will and Testament and Romans 1.

As a Baha'i of many decades I am surprised at what I read here. I had no idea we do not believe in the evolutionary process of human and other material development; what's this big war we are expecting? Armageddon? From my reading this is the war between 'heaven' and 'hell', ie a spiritual war between the old and the new, light and darkness, those that recognise the truths of the new revelation and those that fight it; perhaps expressed in material battles as the opposing forces face each other - the wars and rumours of wars. This reads like a materialist interpretation of scripture. My understanding is that Shoghi Effendi upheld the virgin birth - may be look it up. My final remark is that we have to be careful that we do not give readers the impression that we are a cult and this is what I think the site is doing.

Who is The Father of Jesus?

Thank you, Judy, for keeping an open mind.
I am also very glad that you are going to do more research.
Here are just four suggestions that can assist in that research.
1. The first book of the New Testament begins, “The book of the genealogy of Jesus Christ, the son of David, the son of Abraham.” (Matthew 1:1 RSV)
After that is a record of the father-to-son bloodline, and the last two males are Joseph and Jesus.
2. “I Jesus have sent my angel to you with this testimony for the churches. I am the root and the offspring of David, the bright morning star.” (Revelation 22:16)
3. Jesus said, “For I did not speak of my own accord, but the Father who sent me commanded me what to say and how to say it.” (John 12:49)
Some people have birth fathers who are different men than step fathers. “The Father who sent me” need not be the man who’s sperm fertilized Mary’s egg. Jesus didn’t say, “My Father.” In his ministry, Jesus said, “Our Father.”
4. When the angel Gabriel spoke to Mary, he said, “Do not be afraid, Mary, for you have found favor with God. And behold, you will conceive in your womb and bear a son, and you shall call his name Jesus. He will be great, and will be called the Son of the Most High; and the Lord God will give to him the throne of his father David, and he will reign over the house of Jacob for ever; and of his kingdom there will be no end.” (Luke 1:30-33 RSV)
So, Jesus will “be called the Son of the Most High [Son of God]”, but will be given “the throne of his father David.” Now, it does appear to say that Jesus’ father is David, but Gabriel does not say his father is God. Since King David has been long dead, we can assume that Gabriel is referring to the whole genealogy again—from David to Joseph. Now to prove that Gabriel is not a lair, we can verify his accuracy since Jesus is “called” the “Son” quite often.
It was quite easy, then, for the council of Nicaea in 325 AD to adopt the pagan lie that God, not David, is the father of Jesus. This is a corruption of the word of God as given to us by the most holy Jesus.
"The Trinity and the incarnate God LIE was not a teaching of Jesus or the apostles but was foisted on the Christians by Constantine and the Council of Nicea in 325 A.D."

Hi Collin,
This is a very good piece, but I will have to do more research on the part of God not being Jesus father. I also, do not believe in evolution, if it were true, then every time we looked outside things would be in constant change.

Thanks,
Judy
