NAW RUZ - IRRESISTIBLE POWER OF THE COVENANT!!
Dear Friends,
Allah’u'abha! and Happy Naw Ruz!
The “hands” broke the Covenant lead by Ruhiyyih Khanum. Mason Remey succeeded Shoghi Effendi as the Guardian. The Guardianship shall never end! Allah’u'Abha, Allah’u'Abha in the Highest!
The full text of Joel Marangella’s Proclamation can be found as published in full on the Internet. Praise be to God!
To give a brief synopsis of the chronological events cited in Joel’s proclamation:
In 1961 Joel received a sealed letter from Mason Remey which contained the information that Joel was the next guardian; in 1964 Mason appointed an “International Baha’i Council” with Joel as the president; after this Joel decided to open the letter from Mason; in 1965 Mason instructed Joel to activate this “IBC”; but Joel decided not to convene its meeting but to himself give individual directions to its members in the manner of Shoghi Effendi; in 1966 Mason dissolved this “IBC”; in 1967 Mason publicly announced the appointment of a guardian other than Joel; then, in 1969, Joel proclaimed that he was the guardian. (Mason passed on in 1974)
Examining these events from the text of Joel’s proclamation we will expose the true nature of his claim. Aside from the capitalized headings, we will insert our commentary in brackets.
IN 1961 JOEL RECEIVED A SEALED LETTER FROM MASON REMEY WHICH CONTAINED THE INFORMATION THAT JOEL WAS THE NEXT
GUARDIAN;
Joel: In December of that year a letter was received
from Mason Remey in whose outer envelope was enclosed
a smaller sealed envelope containing the following
inscription written by Mason Remey on its face: “Joel:
Please take care of this sealed envelope …You will
know when to break the seal.”
[Joel opened this in 1964 ten years before Mason died. It was understood that the letter wasn't to be opened until after Mason's death.]
Joel: The statement contained therein was handwritten
at Washington, D.C. on December 5, 1961, and read as
follows: “Dear Joel: This is to tell you to tell the
Baha’i World that I appoint you to be the third
Guardian of the Baha’i Faith according to the Will and
Testament of the Master, ‘Abdu’l-Baha. Mason, Guardian
of the Baha’i Faith”
[This was one of many appointments to the guardianship by Mason Remey. However, only one of his many appointments to the guardianship was Mason's only son, Pepe, and aghsan, fulfilling the criteria of the Will and Testament.]
IN 1964 MASON APPOINTED AN “INTERNATIONAL BAHA’I COUNCIL” WITH JOEL AS THE PRESIDENT;
Joel: …the historic announcement made by the second
Guardian on 21 September 1964 of the creation of the
second International Baha’i Council (announced in the
October 1964 issue of the Glad Tidings).
[The first IBC appointed by Shoghi Effendi was not a device used by Shoghi Effendi to transfer all authority to Mason, but was Shoghi Effendi’s “unique” (W&T p. 3) mission as the direct successor of ‘Abdu’l-Baha - and offspring of BOTH the Bab and
Baha’u’llah (Afnan and Aghsan) - to set up the real and permanent Constitution of the true Universal House of Justice to evolve in four stages (the four stage plan) in the name of the International Baha’i Council on January 9th, 1951.
[The Will and Testament clearly states that the Universal House of Justice is “freed from all error” (W&T, p. 14) and not the president of the UHJ which is the guardian seated upon the throne as the Executive (W&T, p. 15). Joel leavers out these facts and
minimizes Shohgi’s appointment of the first IBC (the actual Infallible freed from all error genuine UHJ) by Shoghi as a mere device to solely appoint Mason to the guardianship. This is why Mason said he would Test the people, and stated that “the head cannot create the body and that the body cannot create the head” knowing he did not have the authority to set up a real IBC, as it was already established by Shoghi Effendi, once and for all time.
[Unlike Shoghi Effendi, who stated explicitly that his IBC (which was the UHJ) was the greatest event second only to the Appearance of the Bab, Baha’u’llah and ‘Abdu’l-Baha to last for 5000 centuries of the duration of the entire Baha’i Cycle (see January 9th cablegram 1951), Mason states explicitly that his so-called “second IBC” was “in name only” and all the members of it were only “potential” and further stated that only in the event that he should be “prevented from appointing his successor to the guardianship” showing that non of those “potential” on his sIBC “in name only” were his actual appointment of his successor guardian at all, a fact further proven as none of those “potentials” of that sIBC in name only” were an aghsan which was his only son Pepe. Mason further exposed the temporary nature that “sIBC” in “name only” when he concludes: "The list of appointments [to the “sIBC”] as they appear above will remain in effect in their numerical order UNTIL further additions or REARRANGEMENTS may be made by the Guardian.” In fact Mason DISSOLVED that sIBC in 1966 and commanded Joel to turn over all papers of that sIBC “that no longer exists”! Joel refused. Joel leaves all this out. Mason did not succeed Shoghi Effendi as the UHJ and knew he had no authority whatsoever to appoint a real IBC (the real UHJ which Shoghi set up once and for all time). Mason’s appointment of an “IBC” was merely a test to those who gravitated toward power and leadership.]
Joel: It remained for Mason Remey’s announcement on
September 21, 1964, of my appointment as President of
the Second International Baha’i Council (the embryonic
Universal House of Justice) to publicly make known to
the believers that I would be the third Guardian of
the Faith … he also designated the eight
Vice-Presidents as potential successors in the order
named.
[In setting up this IBC, Mason was not turning the guardianship over to Joel. This is made clear from the text of Mason's announcement re the "IBC." It is interesting to note that Joel's proclamation carefully avoided reference to the actual wording of Mason's announcement. In researching the text of Mason's announcement of his formation of the IBC we find that Joel misconstrued this into being an appointment to the Guardianship.]
[From The Glad-Tidings, Vol. 5, #5, October 1964, the text of Mason's announcement is as follows: Historic Appointments - Guardian announces creation of second International Baha'i Council. The Guardian of the Faith announces to the Baha'i World his decision to create the Second International Baha'i Council. This Council will exist in name only until conditions in the Faith require it to function as a Body. All powers vested in the appointed members of this Council are "potential." President of the Council - Joel B.
Marangella ... {8 vice-presidents listed by name} ... In the event the Guardian should be prevented from appointing his successor to the guardianship of the Faith, the President of this Council will become the Third Guardian of the Faith. If for any reason the
President of the Council cannot assume this position then the first Vice-President will move into that position and if he should be prevented from assuming the responsibilities of the Guardianship then the second Vice-President will move into that position and
so on down the line of Vice-Presidents in the order of their appointment by the Guardian. ... The list of appointments as they appear above will remain in effect in their numerical order until further additions or rearrangements may be made by the Guardian. Mason Remey, Second Guardian Baha'i World Faith]
[In Mason's announcement of the "IBC" he said that the "Council will exist in name only." This shows that Mason's setting up of this IBC was just one of his tests. He conveyed that Joel's appointment was only "potential" that "All powers vested in the appointed
members of this Council are potential." He affirmed that he still had yet to appoint his successor in the guardianship and that he was not relinquishing that right. "In the event the Guardian should be prevented from appointing his successor to the guardianship of the Faith, the President of this Council will become the Third Guardian of the Faith." Finally he asserted his right to change the entire arrangement as and when he felt it necessary to do so. "The list of appointments as they appear above will remain in
effect in their numerical order until further additions or rearrangements may be made by the Guardian."]
AFTER THIS JOEL DECIDED TO OPEN THE LETTER FROM MASON;
Joel: Soon after this public announcement I journeyed
to Switzerland where for planning purposes I felt that
the time had come to break the seal of the document
which had been deposited there some three years
earlier.
[Joel decided to open the document after Mason announced the formation of the "IBC" but before the IBC was activated.]
Joel: The question which immediately arose in my mind
was when I should tell the believers of this
appointment.
[This shows that Marangella's thoughts were toward self-glorification and leadership. He was eager to assume the guardianship. However, Joel admitted that he knew that he could not become the next guardian while Mason was still alive.]
Joel: I concluded then that such an announcement on my
part would only be appropriate after the passing of
the second Guardian. The thought did not cross my mind
at that time that it would ever be proper to make this
announcement in advance of the passing of the second
Guardian. In this regard, Baha’is had accepted as a
matter of course that the incumbent of the Office of
Guardianship would hand over the spiritual scepter of
this Office to his successor only at the hour of his
death…
IN 1965 MASON INSTRUCTED JOEL TO ACTIVATE THIS “IBC”;
[In Mason's comments cited by Joel regarding the activation of the "IBC" it is clear that he is not turning the guardianship over to Joel.]
Joel: In a letter under date of February 18, 1966, he
stated: “I am turning the affairs of the Faith over to
you as the President of the second Baha’i
International Council to handle this for me - you
having the other members of the International Council
to assist you” and further in this same letter “from
now on I will leave you free to conduct the affairs of
the Faith, I making suggestions when necessary”.
(Published in the Glad Tidings of May 1966).
[Mason said "handle this FOR ME" showing that he was still retaining the guardianship. This is further confirmed by the comment "I making suggestions when necessary." Thus, Mason still retained the authority over Joel.]
Joel: … in the summer of 1965 when I visited him in
Florence, Italy, … he instructed me to announce to
the Baha’i World the activation of the second
International Baha’i Council. He left the wording of
this announcement to me. I recall wondering to myself
at the time how I would word such an announcement as
Mason Remey’s Proclamation had made it very clear to
all of us why Shoghi Effendi had never instructed him
during his lifetime to activate the first
International Baha’i Council, … for had he done so
Mason Remey, as its President, … would have at that
instant automatically become the second Guardian. …
[We can conclude from Joel's explanation that Shoghi Effendi never activated the IBC (UHJ) because the guardianship could not pass to Mason until the previous guardian, Shoghi Effendi, was dead. Therefore, we can also conclude that the guardianship
of Mason could not pass to the next one until after Mason's death. This is in accordance with the Will and Testament which states that the guardian is guardian for life (W&T, p. 14: he is the “distinguished member for life”]
[However, in his eagerness to usurp the guardianship, poor Joel's thoughts leaped to the wild conclusion that he, at that instant automatically, was the guardian. Instead of focusing on the work at hand, Joel thoughts focused on his lust for a glorified
position.]
[Some of the fallacies behind Joel's thought that he was, from that moment, the guardian are that:
1. Joel was not a son, not an aghsan. The W&T stipulates that the guardian must appoint a son (an aghsan) as his successor. Mason is an aghsan, the legal adopted son – aghsan-son – of ‘Abdu’l-Baha. That is a fact. ‘Abdu’l-Baha tells Mason: "I have adopted you as my son. You have to appreciate this favor very much indeed. One should see that you are living according to the requirements of this sonship. You should be aware of your responsibilities. My prayers will help you. I always pray for you." (`Abdu'l-Bahá to Remey, 1921: Final Visit in Tiberias, Folio 2, "A Pilgrimage to the Holy Land: Reminisces of the Master, 1921", pp.127-129) (http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Mason_Remey) Joel is not a son of Mason, ‘Abdu’l-Baha , Shoghi Effendi, Mason’s only son Pepe, or any one in the aghsan family at all!
2. According to the W&T, the guardians hold their office for life, therefore the guardian's appointment of his successor cannot take effect until the moment of his death. Mason was still alive!
3. It was never Mason's intention that this definitely constituted an appointment to the guardianship. “unless he is prevented from appointing his successor to the guardianship” which he wasn’t when he appointed his only son Pepe, an aghsan.
4. This IBC, and therefore Joel's presidency of it, was just a decoy as Mason did not have the authority of Shoghi Effendi, and could not appoint the real IBC. (Mason stated in one of his letters that he did not have the authority to appoint this body. This is why Mason said it was “in name only”. It was a test.)
5. W e find that Joel did not activate the body. If this IBC had been the real IBC, then according to the Marangella’s “doctrine”, only when it was activated would he have become the next guardian. According to his own doctrine, Joel never actually became the next guardian because Mason's "IBC" was never activated!!]
JOEL DECIDED NOT TO CONVENE ITS MEETING BUT TO, HIMSELF, GIVE INDIVIDUAL DIRECTIONS TO ITS MEMBERS AFTER THE MANNER OF SHOGHI EFFENDI;
Joel: … I prepared the statement which appears in
the Glad Tidings of October 1965 under the heading of
“Council Assumes Task”. …. I attempted to resolve my
dilemma by using such phrases as: “the second
International Baha’i Council… will not be convened
at this time as a collectively functioning body” and
“The President will assign responsibilities and tasks
to individual members of the Council”. However,
recalling the circumstances surrounding the creation
of the first International Baha’i Council in 1951, it
will be remembered that Shoghi Effendi, himself, had
issued all instructions and assigned tasks to
individual members of the Council. …
[According to Joel he alone decided not to activate the council and then Mason went along with this decision.]
Joel: For the moment I assumed responsibility for
directing members of the Council in the performance of
their tasks the Council was actively functioning and
activated under its President (its activation not
necessarily being contingent upon a collective
convocation of its members in a given place).
[Poor Joel! In his desperation to ensure that he was the only "activated" member of the council, he refused to convene the body. This was because Mason seemed to have said that the potential of successor-ship would not be activated until the body was activated. As all the vice-presidents were potential successors also, Joel did not want their potential successor-ship activated too. In a ploy to activate his potential successor-ship while avoiding the activation of theirs, he "activated" the body without activating it. This still left him the satisfaction of controlling the members of the body individually. In this way he also avoided having to submit to a convened body making decisions through taking a vote, and himself -- with a vote of only one -- having to submit to the majority vote.]
IN 1966 MASON DISSOLVES THIS “IBC”;
Joel: It was not long before the Baha’i administrative
institutions under the hereditary Guardianship were
dismantled by Mason Remey and the second International
Baha’i Council which had been activated only some
twelve months earlier was summarily dismissed without
the slightest prior intimation to its President of his
intention to do so. In a letter addressed to me on
October 18, 1966, Mason Remey instructed: “At your
leisure will you kindly turn over to me such records
as you have of the second Council that no longer
exists.”
[When Mason witnessed Joel's machinations he concluded that Joel had failed the test. The "IBC," having thus fulfilled its purpose of revealing what was in the hearts of these wannabe guardians, was dissolved. At that point, even Joel's potential for succession no longer existed.]
IN 1967 MASON PUBLICLY ANNOUNCES THE APPOINTMENT OF A GUARDIAN OTHER THAN JOEL;
[Aside from his public announcement Mason wrote in a private letter to Mrs. Timmerman dated August 18th 1967, “I am in perfect health and I expect to live to a great age. The reason that I announced Donald Harvey to be my successor was to DISCOURAGE THOSE who are HOPING to become Guardian of the Faith and who were INTENT on building themselves up to fill this position.”]
[Mason Remey explains here that the reason for this was just to solve the problem of these wannabe guardians, meaning that he isn't really appointing Donald either! The appointment of Donald Harvey is no more legitimate than that of Marangella as Donald also
was not a son, not an aghsan. Only Pepe was an aghsan, the only son of Mason.]
Joel: [Mason Remey made] … a startling and
inexplicable announcement which had the effect of
suddenly and fully awakening me to the gravity of the
situation. This was an announcement in August 1967
that a person other than myself and not one of the
original members of the second International Baha’i
Council whom he had designated as potential Guardians,
had been appointed the third Guardian of the Baha’i
Faith. As Mason Remey had not nullified in any way his
former appointment in 1961 of myself as third
Guardian, [but this new appointment in itself could be
said to have nullified the previous one] it was
inconceivable and incomprehensible that he should make
an alternate appointment. For the first time I felt
impelled to write to Mason Remey apprising him of my
knowledge of his appointment of me as third Guardian
on December 5, 1961, enclosing a photostatic copy of
same asking for an explanation. His reply offered no
explanation and served to confirm my worst fears that
something was seriously wrong if Mason Remey had
forgotten, as was obviously the case, this
all-important appointment. This sad turn of events,
needless to say, caused a great commotion in my heart
and soul. After meditating on the situation for some
time in an effort to find a rational explanation, it
dawned on my consciousness that the reason for this,
as well as the lamentable state of affairs in the
Faith and the conflicting statements which were coming
from Mason Remey lay in the fact that the mantle of
Guardianship no longer reposed on the shoulders of
Mason Remey nor had it done so since the autumn of
1964 when I had opened the letter addressed to me by
Mason Remey telling me to tell the Baha’i World that I
was the third Guardian of the Baha’i Faith. As earlier
explained, I had considered at the time that this was
an announcement that I would only make after the
passing of Mason Remey. But as I have already pointed
out Mason Remey had on two occasions provided me with
the opportunity, however unbeknownst to himself and
unrecognized by me to take over the reins of the Faith
(i.e., when the Council was activated in October 1965
and in February 1966). …
[We will follow Mason's lead here: No Comment!]
Joel: Having finally come to the realization late in
1967 that I had actually been the Guardian of the
Faith since 1964, the faithful friends may well ask
why I did not forthwith claim this fact to them then
and there. … I was certain that my claim to the
Guardianship would now most certainly be openly
repudiated by the very one who had appointed me to
this supreme Office … I elected to remain silent and
await the course of events.
[remain silent like a fox!]
JOEL DECIDES TO PUBLICLY CLAIM THE GUARDIANSHIP
[The course of events was that Rex King had attempted to physically force Mason to sign a document making him a regent guardian. As a result Mason named Rex the Satan of this period (the satanic intellect turns away from God) in September of 1969. Shortly thereafter, Rex came to Joel with a plan to get his (Rex's) supporters to split from Mason and follow Joel Marangella, and thus salvage Rex's ambitions to leadership. Rex convinced Joel to usurp the guardianship under the premise that Mason had lost his
marbles – which was the same worn-out accusation the “Hands” said against Mason years earlier - and Joel had to take over the guardianship to save the faith. Joel's proclamation is dated November 12, 1969, just a few months after Rex was named a Satan. Later Rex (as he had originally planned) split from Joel taking most of these followers with him. Please refer to entrybytroops.org. for more]
Joel: Encouraged and emboldened by the remarkable fact
that a few believers [Rex and his supporters] have
recently had the spiritual perception to recognize,
without any solicitation on my part, my accession to
the Guardianship, I have decided to break my
self-imposed silence, to present herewith the basis of
my claim to the present Guardianship of the Faith and
to hereby proclaim this to the Baha’i World.
[Thus did Joel turn his back on Mason Remey (while Mason was still alive in office in his irremovable position as the Guardian), violate the Covenant of God, and form his own (Joel’s) Covenant-breaking sect of the Baha'i Faith. Joel did what many in the Faith
have done before him, he confused position with station and this led to his spiritual downfall. As Joel himself wrote in the initial pages of his own proclamation, these Covenant-breakers (including Joel) "lost their faith in the inviolability and immortality
of the provisions of the Will and Testament of 'Abdu'l-Baha [in which the guardianship is hereditary in the line of aghsan only] and had, however unwittingly, joined the ranks of its enemies.”]
***********
Remember, and take warning friends from the words of `Abdu’l-Baha in his Will and Testament, “Beware lest anyone falsely interpret these words, and like unto them that have broken the Covenant after the Day of Ascension advance a pretext, raise the standard of revolt, wax stubborn and open wide the door of false interpretation.”
Don’t let yourselves “wittingly or unwittingly” get trapped in the miasma, mirasmus convolutions of the false Marangella doctrine of “spiritual son” dogma. Joel Marangella knew he was not Mason’s son - was jealous and has issues with Pepe as he was – and thus
could never be the guardian, but at Rex’s urging, he invented the false “spiritual son” dogma. Jesus warned that Satan only bothers a person until that person has become like unto him and then Satan (Rex) leaves him alone. If Yahya and Muhammad-Ali and Judas Iscariot were in the station of “satan” according to Baha’u’llah, Abdu’l-Baha and Shoghi Effendi - was ‘Abdu’l-Baha’s son Mason wrong to point out that so was “Rex”? Shouldn’t the believers including Joel have listened to their GUARDIAN and be wary of satan?
For Joel made no real mistake in action until Rex got his hooks into him, and then when Joel became like Rex, Rex broke away from him and left Joel alone. We hope everyone including Joel reads this letter and comes back home to the fold of the Covenant, but if he doesn’t it is no skin off my nose!
In researching the text of Mason’s announcement of his formation of the IBC you will find that Joel misconstrued this into being an appointment to the Guardianship. The text of Mason’s announcement is as follows: “Historic Appointments - Guardian announces
creation of second International Baha’i Council. The Guardian of the Faith announces to the Baha’i World his decision to create the Second International Baha’i Council. This Council will exist in name only until conditions in the Faith require it to function as a
Body. All powers vested in the appointed members of this Council are “potential.” President of the Council - Joel B. Marangella … [8 vice-presidents listed by name] … In the event the Guardian should be prevented from appointing his successor to the guardianship of the Faith, the President of this Council will become the Third Guardian of the Faith. If for any reason the President of the Council cannot assume this position then the first Vice-President will move into that position and if he should be prevented from assuming the responsibilities of the Guardianship then the second Vice-President will move into that position and so on down the line of Vice-Presidents in the order of their appointment by the Guardian. … The list of appointments as they appear above will remain in effect in their numerical order until further additions or rearrangements may be made by the Guardian. Mason Remey, Second Guardian Baha’i World Faith.”
In Mason’s announcement of the “IBC” he said that the:
“Council will exist in name only.”
He conveyed that Joel’s appointment was only “potential” that:
“All powers vested in the appointed members of this Council are potential.”
Mason affirmed that he still had yet to appoint his successor in the guardianship and that he was not relinquishing that right:
“In the event the Guardian should be prevented from appointing his successor to the guardianship of the Faith, the President of this Council will become the Third Guardian of the Faith.”
Finally Mason Remey asserted his right to change the entire arrangement as he felt necessary, which he did in 1966:
“The list of appointments as they appear above will remain in effect in their numerical order UNTIL further additions or rearrangements may be made by the Guardian.”
Thus, Joel Marangella was tested and found wanting. Mason placed Joel in a position of authority over his phony “IBC” to see what Joel would do with it. Not only did Joel abuse his authority in that he refused to activate this “IBC” as Mason had instructed him,
Joel used it to prop himself up as if he was Shoghi Effendi, not convening the body but giving instructions to the members individually.
The Covenant provided Shoghi Effendi with the infallibility to guide and command the Baha’i Faith all by himself without the assistance of the appointed/elected body. The appointed/elected body together with its hereditary aghsan president is likewise the true “UHJ:and therefore “freed from all error” (W&T, p,. 14) Infallible, by itself, to collectively guide and command the administration. Because of this, Shoghi Effendi and his IBC (which was the real UHJ with Mason Aghsan as its head) could not both be the active leader of the faith at the same time, and therefore the UHJ was activated with full Infallible power with Mason as its Executive at the moment of Shoghi passing on Nov. 4, 1957. The IBC/UHJ is Shoghi Effendi’s successor. The purpose of the Davidic Kingship being the permanent and irremovable president for life of that body of the IBC/UHJ is so that we can recognize Baha’u’llah true Universal House of Justice from fakes, frauds and imitations.
The guardians who sit on the Universal House of Justice/International Baha’i Council have a different type of guardianship from that of Shoghi Effendi. They are not his sole successors – the full Council is. Mason knew this and wrote about it. Unlike Shoghi Effendi they have right to the hereditary seat of presidency on the council, inherited from `Abdu’l- Baha in the direct male-line through mason and then Pepe and today Pep’s only son Neal whom Pepe adopted and appointed in the same manner and style as ‘Abdu’l-Baha’s adoption and appointment of Mason. They are a member of the council having one vote, like all the other members; there is no veto power. This is given in the Will and the explicit writings of Shoghi Effendi.
This guidance from a collective spiritual body the full UHJ (Body and Head both) is the New Covenant that Jesus proclaimed, which Baha’u'llah has brought to the world and which is established an functioning with both branches a) legislative/judicial and b) Executive /Guardian Davidic king in full functioning order (www.uhj.net). Baha’u'llah’s Covenant is not that of a hereditary line of single spiritual autocrats but rather a spiritual democratic-monarchy where we are all spiritual sons of Baha’u’llah adoptive sons of
God, along with our fellow the BRANCH the living legal aghsan who has inherited the legal inheritance of the throne of King David and hereditary right of kingship to the presidency of the Universal House of Justice - the House of the Lord spoken of in the Bible in Isaiah Chapter 2 seated upon the throne of King David spoken of in Isaiah Chapter 9 verses 6-7 that Baha’u’llah sat upon “The Ancient Beauty ruleth upon the throne of King David” – “Proc. Baha’u’llah”, page 89) and that “Abdu’l-Baha sat upon, then his son Mason, his son Pepe and now his son Neal, the great-grandson of ‘Abdul-Baha so we can recognize the true UHJ (www.uhj,net) from fakes frauds an imitations from out all the other 9 so called “Baha’i” groups in the world today who have separated themselves from the provisions of Covenant the provisions of the sacred Will and Testament of ‘Abdu’l-Baha included that of Joel who has gone astray (wittingly or unwittingly it does not matter) led by a man named Rex that the Guardian warned was in the “station of satan” like Baha’u’llah said of Muhammad-Ali and Yahya and Ruhiyyih Khanum and the rest.
For a full depiction of this world spiritual democracy of the Covenant – this democratic monarchy qualified with the beneficial aspects of theocracy and autocracy, where the guardian seated upon David ‘s throne is in the position of the living “Christ of the
Baha’i World Order” read pages 152-54 of Shoghi Effendi’s book “World Order of Baha’u'llah.”)
Investigate the TRUTH NOW before it is too late! The Kingdom is Come! and the GREAT Catastrophe of this World War OF Terror is NOW upon the people. Investigate the Facts before it is too late.
(This was written for your safety, security and salvation. The protection of the Covenant alone gives this. Mason Remey was an aghsan! Think about it! Act now, before the door closes and the ark sails onward without you.)
Afterword:
This has been an Examination of Joel Marangella’s Claim to the Guardianship of the Baha’i Faith. Consider the criteria in the Will:
“O ye beloved of the Lord! It is incumbent upon the Guardian of the Cause of God to appoint in his own life-time him that shall become his successor, that differences may not arise after his passing. He that is appointed must manifest in himself detachment from all worldly things, must be the essence of purity, must show in himself the fear of God, knowledge, wisdom and learning. Thus, should the first-born of the Guardian of the Cause of God not manifest in himself the truth of the words: - “The child is the secret essence of its sire,” that is, should he not inherit of the spiritual within him (the Guardian of the Cause of God) and his glorious lineage not be matched with a goodly character, then must he, (the Guardian of the Cause of God) choose another branch to
succeed him. (`Abdu’l-Baha: Will and Testament, Page: 12)
Above is the Criteria that Abdu’l-Baha has given us so that we can recognize the true successor to the Guardianship of the Baha’i Faith. It is very simple, there are two criteria. First, he must be appointed in the lifetime of the previous Guardian. Second, he must
be a “branch.” The original Arabic word for branch is “Aghsan” from “Ghusn,” meaning a “hereditary son of the lineage of Baha’u'llah.”
Mason Remey Aghsan was the Guardian of the Baha’i Faith because he met these two criteria. 1. He was appointed by the previous guardian, Shoghi Effendi, during his lifetime, and… 2. He was a “hereditary son of the lineage of Baha’u'llah” because he was
legally adopted by ‘Abdu’l-Baha to continue the Covenant that God made with David, that his throne would endure for ever (Psalms 89).
During his reign as Guardian of the Baha’i Faith, Mason Remey made 12 appointments to succeed him. Joel Marangella was one of these 12. Only one of the 12 men appointed by Mason to be his successor, Mason’s only son Pepe, was also an Aghsan, as is Pepe’s only son, Neal, the great-grandson of ‘Abdul’-Baha, the current president of the UHJ (www.uhj.net) alive in the world
today.
Some vital information for those interested in investigating the “Orthodox” sect of the Baha’i Faith:
“Thus it is seen that the ocean of the Covenant hath surged and surged until it hath thrown out the dead bodies - souls that are deprived of the Spirit of God and are lost in passion and self and are seeking leadership. This foam of the ocean shall not endure
and shall soon disperse and vanish, while the ocean of the Covenant shall eternally surge and roar.”(`Abdu’l-Baha, Selections from the Writings of `Abdu’l-Baha, pp. 210-211)
Joel Marangella’s proclamation shows that this desire for leadership is exactly the motive behind his claim to guardianship. He was under the confusion and temptation of believing that he would receive an exalted spiritual station if he assumed the office of
guardianship. Joel Marangella thought an appointment to the guardianship would put him in a special relationship with God exalted above the rank and file Baha’is and that he would be infallible.
The Will and Testament of ‘Abdu’l-Baha does not teach that the guardians are “freed from all error” or that they receive a spiritual station when they assume the office of guardianship. We know, further from the explicit writings of Shoghi Effendi as well at that of
‘Abdu’l-Baha’s aghsan-son Mason, that the guardians who are the presidents of the UHJ are regular Baha’is like the rest of us. They have a highly exalted position of responsibility in the administration. But it is still merely a position, NOT a spiritual station. It is for each individual guardian to earn their particular spiritual station under their own merits just like all the rest of the rank and file
Baha’is.
