Muslim View of Antichrist

I just returned from a business trip to Seattle. While I was there I took a taxi and the driver, wearing all white and a white fez, was playing a tape of Arabic singing. It really was quite beautiful, entrancing even. He turned it down for my directions and I asked him what it was and he said it was the Quran in song. I complimented his musical taste. More importantly this opened a dialogue. We talked about religion for the 15 minute drive then for 10 more after I paid. He said that everything I said was right and that he agreed. And he said that I know more about the reality of Islam than he himself, a devout follower, does. We parted on the best of terms with me giving him the URL that he could go to for more information about Islam from our perspective.

One thing that did stand out also is what his concept of the “antichrist” is. He believes that the antichrist will appear soon, very much in the same way as the Christians have come to expect, as a super influential, charismatic, leader who will deceive the masses and start world war 3, yada, yada.

I pointed out that the only place, in any of the revealed scriptures from around the world, that the word antichrist appears in the Bible, New Testament, first and second letters of John. I quoted one of them, where John wrote,

“Little children, it is the last time: and as ye have heard that antichrist shall come, even now are their many antichrists,”
1 John 2: 18.

With very little help he could see that “antichrist” is not one man, who will arise, yada, yada! Nay! Rather, that the antichrist is a whole group, of many people, and who existed at the time of John already! So it can’t be the other way, the way the “Christian evangelists” explain it, it is not logical and is not in accord with what the scriptures and John say about antichrist.

Well, where did all those antichrists at the time of John go to? No where, the group multiplied and is a strong force in the world this day, to strong! First though we must ask, what is the definition of antichrist?

Anti means “opposed to” and the definition of the word Christ is, “An anointed male lineal descendant of King David.” This Muslim brother/taxi driver thought about that and accepted it as true, which usually indicates a pure heart and could be his saving grace and ticket in to heaven should he be raptured up in the thermonuclear clouds that are destined for that wonderful city.

The antichrist is anyone and everyone who opposes the definition of the word Christ, preferring the deified god-man Jesus over the prophet and Manifestation Jesus. Especially culpable and at the front of the pack are all Trinitarians who allow polytheism, that is, claim that Jesus is equal to God as he is part of a triune god, the trinity, thus they must be opposed to Jesus being a genealogical descendent from King David in an unbroken father to son line.

I welcome all comments and discussion.

Peace

Anti-Christ is definitely a confusing concept and means different things to different people and religions. The Baha’i concept in reference to descendant of King David is obviously one i have adopted in meaning. If i equate Christ to Love then a person who is Anti-Love fits the bill. Didn’t Nostradamus indicate 3 anti-Christs with Napolean, Hitler, and ?? Each of these people have instilled fear as the means to govern and rule which is opposite of love. In our modern times we have a leader in America who also promotes the same fear madness to the masses. Or is the reference to the Baha’i Faith and its denial of the succession to the throne of King David? There were anti-Christ after Jesus death the 1st Christ. It is appropriate today in the case of Baha’u'llah the 2nd Christ. We live in mysterious times. The religions do not agree on the same perception of God either though we all believe in the same One Invisible Being. God is an amazing Creator and progressive revelation is the key to understanding.

the anti-christ belief in islam is not derived from the new testament, rather from the sayings of the prophet muhammad, the hadith (comoros as i understand it is a muslim majority country). muhammad, and muslims after him, regard the previous scriptures to be corrupt, and not worth reading, the qur’an contains all the good in them, and corrects their mistakes. in islam, the anti-christ is known as ‘al-maseeh ad-dajjaal’, or ‘the lying messiah’/anti-christ. muslim beliefs about him are similar to those of christians, but get more specific as to how to recognize him, he will have one eye (the other will be blemished), and every true believer, even if illiterate, will be able to clearly distinguish the word ‘kaafir’, ‘disbeliever’, on his forehead. jesus descends from heaven to kill him, and then rules the world by the qur’an until he dies.

Anti-Christ is in the spiritual nature, it does’nt say anti-Jesus or anti-Baha’u'llah. Could be any Government that opposes a man of God and the messenger he represents at the time. As i had read, the symbal of the beast is Liberty, we all know where the statue is located.

it is just one of the thousands of campany, that chosen a beast on most if not all it’s products.

The series called “The Arrivals” also shows so many proofs that the Anti-Christ is either among us already or will be very very soon. (google them)

In the ancient world time was considered to be cyclical just as astrological event occur in cycles.

In my own opinion, a man with one eye, and one eye blemished refers to the ancient god Horus, the son of Osiris and ISIS. He was known as a sky god with a left eye representing the sun (solar energies and the Eye of Ra) and the left eye representing the moon (lunar energies and the Eye of Horus).

It is said that his left eye was wounded, explaining why the moon is less bright than the sun. Horus is defeated by Set (darkness) and when he dies his God status is retained as God of the underworld, thus representing the time that the sun spends under the earth. Horus is resurrected (read: reincarnated) as Osiris (Christ).

Osiris and ISIS again give birth to Horus, and the cycle starts again.

[This is my interpretation of the Egyptology that I have read thus far. Your interpretation may differ as the stories differ from region to region and from one time period to the next.]

Anti-Christ may well be one and the same as the Christ, temporarily ruled by lunar energies rather than Solar energies.

In Hindu the gods have many Avatars. A god or goddess may come as a Savior, and come back as a destroyer. Even Avatars can forget that they are divine, just as we do.

The antichrist in Islam is ad-Dajjal, and should not be confused with the Antichrist in the Bible. Al-Mahdi and Isa are the ones that sound just like the descriptions of the Antichrist and False Prophet in the Bible. see http://al-mahdi.atspace.com/al-mahdi.html and http://al-mahdi.atspace.com/isa.html for detailed analysis.
